Cookie Policy
Effective date: 15 October 2026
1. What this covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage and IndexedDB) used by BuDash. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2. What we use
BuDash uses strictly necessary storage only. These are required for the service to work and are not used for advertising or tracking.
| Name / type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
Firebase Authentication (IndexedDB / localStorage, e.g. firebaseLocalStorageDb) | Keeps you signed in securely | Until you sign out |
bd_cart (localStorage) | Remembers the items in your cart | Until you place the order, clear the cart or clear your browser data |
bd_cookie_ok (localStorage) | Remembers that you saw the cookie notice | Until you clear your browser data |
3. What we do not use
We do not use advertising cookies, social-media pixels or third-party analytics on BuDash.
4. Third-party services
- Paystack: when you are redirected to pay, Paystack's checkout page may set its own cookies for security and fraud prevention. See Paystack's privacy and cookie notices.
- OpenStreetMap: map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers when you track a delivery. Your IP address is visible to them as part of the request.
- Google (Firebase): scripts and services used for sign-in and database access.
5. Managing storage
Because we only use strictly necessary storage, there is nothing optional to switch off. You can delete stored data in your browser settings (this will sign you out and empty your cart). You can reopen the notice using the "Cookie notice" link in the footer.
6. Changes
If we ever add analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
